Privacy policy

Learn about QRCam camera permissions, on-device image scanning, scan results, browser storage, and website analytics.

Scope

This policy covers camera QR scanning, image QR recognition, and result actions on the QRCam website. Scanning takes place in your current browser and does not require an account.

Camera permission and frames

After you choose to start the camera, your browser asks for camera permission. This feature requires a secure context such as HTTPS or localhost and your explicit approval. Camera frames are used for QR recognition in your browser and are not uploaded as video or photos. The tool releases the camera when you stop scanning, switch to image scanning, or leave the page.

Images and scan results

Selected static PNG, JPG, or WebP images are read and scanned using a browser canvas. Each file must be no larger than 20MB. Images and QR contents are not submitted to the QRCam server or sent to third-party recognition or content-review services.

Scan results stay in the current page memory and can be copied by you. The website does not create a scan history or offer permanent storage or sharing links for QR contents. Scan again after refreshing or closing the page.

Browser storage and analytics

Shared scripts use localStorage for a random user identifier and language suggestion state. These values do not contain scanned images or recognized text. Google Analytics is loaded outside development environments to understand website usage; analytics requests may include device, page-visit, and network-related information.

Network requests and third-party resources

Opening the website requests pages, fonts, icons, and scripts, some of which come from third-party CDNs. The website server and third-party providers may receive normal request information such as network address, access time, browser details, and resource paths. Their own privacy policies govern their handling. On-device recognition does not mean the website makes no network requests or uses no analytics.

Only recognized HTTP or HTTPS addresses offer an open-link action, and you must click it yourself. The destination website then handles your visit under its own rules. Check the address before visiting an unfamiliar website.

Your choices

You can deny or revoke camera permission and use an image instead. You can stop the camera, close the page, and clear cookies, localStorage, and other site data in your browser settings. Browser privacy settings or extensions can limit third-party analytics and resource requests, but may also affect website features.

Policy updates

We update this page when features or data handling change. See the Cookie policy for more about browser storage and third-party analytics.
