Cookie policy

Learn about QRCam cookies, localStorage identifiers, language prompts, Google Analytics, and browser privacy controls.

Cookies and browser storage

Cookies are small values stored by your browser that can be sent with website requests. localStorage is local storage used by page scripts. QRCam shared scripts use localStorage, but not to save scanned images or recognized text.

How this site uses localStorage

userId stores a random user identifier, and lang-switch-tip-shown records whether a language suggestion has been shown. These values stay in the current browser until cleared by you or the browser. They are not a scan history and contain no QR contents.

Website analytics

Google Analytics is loaded outside development environments to understand page visits and website usage. Its scripts may use cookies or other identifiers and process page, device, and network information, subject to browser settings and Google policies. Scanned images and recognized text are not sent as analytics event contents.

Third-party resource requests

Fonts, icons, and scripts may load from third-party CDNs. Providers can receive the normal network request information needed to load these resources, and some services may set their own cookies. Actual cookies and storage entries may vary with the deployment environment and third-party services.

How QR contents are handled

Camera frames and selected images are scanned in the browser, with results kept only in the current page memory. The tool does not write QR contents to cookies or localStorage or offer server-side scan storage. Analytics and resource requests are separate from QR recognition.

Manage and clear site data

Use browser settings to view, block, or delete cookies, clear QRCam localStorage, or limit third-party analytics requests. After clearing local storage, the user identifier may be generated again and the language prompt may reappear. Blocking scripts or third-party resources may affect page display and features.

Policy updates

We update this page as features, deployment, and third-party resources change. See the Privacy policy for QR contents, camera permissions, and external links.
